Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team

Hello all,

This is a message from St Michael’s Team 1 to update you on what your local officers have been doing this week.

✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅

At the beginning of this week, the local officers joined efforts with other departments within the West Midlands Police, and partner agencies under a multi-agency road safety operation, including WMP Traffic unit, Taxi Licensing Team, the Immigration department and Driving Vehicle Standards Agency. This was in efforts to promote road safety, educate the motorists, reduce collisions and provide reassurance to the public and road users. We saw some fantastic results such as multiple vehicles seizures, traffic offences recognised and prosecuted, and advice given to keep vehicles road worthy. 

St Michael’s officers are continuing patrols within the Coventry City Centre, focusing on anti-social behaviour hotspots. Officers have been working closely with the Business District Improvement to offer reassurance to businesses and visitors to the Coventry City Centre, in order to tackle shop thefts and other problematic behaviours. Thanks to these efforts, a prolific shoplifter has been arrested and charged with such offences, and civil interventions were put in place to address the offending.

Please note that due to the nature of our role as officers, sometimes situations occur that are beyond our control, therefore, if we are not at an advertised event, it is because we were called to an emergency that sometimes does not give us time to contact WM Now and such like, to cancel an event.

We would like to offer some advice on how to keep yourself and your belongings safe when out and about. Keep your valuables out of sight, stay aware of your surroundings, securing your mobile phone by protective passwords.
